During her career as a cosmetologist, Pauline Youngblood was in daily contact with clients who had traumatized skin from laser treatment, acne and cosmetic surgery.
It took such clients up to six months before their skin returned to normal and Pauline Youngblood was not at all happy with the selection of makeup for those clients.

Youngblood then began working with chemists to develop a product that will cover red, irritated or discolored skin, while the product will allow the skin to breathe and heal.
The product was a great success with her clients, and many continued to use the product after their skin had returned to normal.

At the urging of family, friends and clients, Pauline founded Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics in 1996 and began selling her products commercially.

Some of the popular products in the series are especially their mineral powder or mineral foundation, which with its light consistency settles easily and opaque on the skin.
