Navigating the world of facial cleansers is no easy task because the options are endless. There are foams, oils, lotions, balms and micellar water. They all work slightly differently when it comes to removing makeup and dirt.
As with all things, what works for one person may not work for you or your skin type. In addition to the type of facial cleanser, the active ingredients must also be taken into account. If your skin is dry, you'll probably benefit from some extra hyaluronic acid or ceramides. If it's prone to staining, look for salicylic acid.
For a deep clean, activated charcoal or clay cleansers can help remove and mop up excess sebum, and for shine, vitamin C is your best bet. Each ingredient targets a different skin concern and the right ones can dramatically improve your skin's results than general facial cleansers, so it's worth finding what suits you.
