Piz Buin

It was after chemistry student Franz Greiter was badly sunburned during an ascent of the alpine peak "Piz Buin" in 1938 that he began developing the world's first sunscreen. That product was called Piz Buin Cletcher Cream and was launched on the streets in 1946.
