Lacoste

History

Lacoste is a well-known clothing company which was founded by the Frenchman René Lacoste in 1933.

The Frenchman was born and raised in Paris. The first thing he designed was the recognizable polo shirt, which he himself wore during his tennis matches, where of course the little green crocodile logo was embroidered on.

Besides being a great business man, he was also a super skilled tennis player. The logo came from his nickname which was "The Crocodile" due to the way he handled his opponents in a tennis match.
