Albert Fouquet, the son of a Parisian aristocrat, belonged to French elite society at the beginning of the 20th century and was a perfume connoisseur. In a room on the upper floor of the family castle, Fouquet created and perfected various essences for his personal use - assisted by Philippe, the family butler. At social events he surprised everyone with an exquisite scent that became increasingly sought after in the exclusive social circle in which he frequented. However, Fouquet repeatedly rejected proposals to market his fragrance.
In January 1934, Albert Fouquet traveled to Chile at the invitation of the Italian ambassador. In addition to enjoying the charm of the country, he also used this trip to search for aromatic plants in the Andes that would enhance his scents. He returned to Paris with several branches of “Andrea,” as Albert called him. The plant whose extracts are the soul of his fragrance "EIGHT & BOB". Andrea is a wild plant that is in short supply due to the altitude and limited area in which it grows. and can only be picked in the months of December and January.
The plants collected go through a very demanding selection process in which only seven percent are selected. This process ends between March and April and only then will it be known how many units of "EIGHT & BOB" can be produced.
